All of our systems come equipped with a backup battery that can last up to 24 hours depending on the equipment that you have. In the event of a power outage, if you have one of our wireless systems that comes with the mysafetouch app and communicates via cellular signal, your system will still be monitored for as long as the battery lasts and there is still cellular signal. Sometimes cellular signals can be interrupted during hurricanes due to interference with cell towers.
If your power goes out, your system may begin to beep to notify you that you lost power. This is a safety feature that is built into your equipment but may be able to be silenced.
Once power is restored, your system may continue to beep and show a low system battery. This is normal because the battery was drained during the power outage, and just needs time to recharge. This can also be silenced with the instructions below.
If you have the mysafetouch mobile app, click on the cogwheel followed by the message “Silence Trouble Beeps” at the top of the screen near the trouble notification. This will allow you to acknowledge the trouble and silence the beeping for up to 7 days. Only customers who have an interactive system with cellular communication will have this application. You can only silence the beeps from the app if you do not have any life saving equipment such as smoke detectors or CO detectors.
If you do not have the mysafetouch app, you can still silence the trouble beeps at the keypad:

If you are not sure which system you have, you can try both options A and B. One of them will likely silence your system.
You may need to repeat this process as your system will periodically “check in” and start beeping again every several hours.

If you are in an area that is severely affected, we may suspend service and install until driving conditions are safe.
